Surrender a pet

Struggling to care for your pet? We are here to help.

RSPCA Northamptonshire Branch understands that pets are a much loved member of any family and it is incredibly difficult to make the decision to rehome them – that’s why, when they are safe and happy, we are supporting owners to keep their pets at home whenever possible.

Before making the decision to rehome your pet you may wish to explore the support that we offer to local pet owners.

You can also contact our welfare advice line by calling 01604 881317 and our friendly team will be able to discuss your individual circumstances and offer tailored advice.

Rehoming

If you decide that you need to rehome your pet we are here to help. We appreciate that this will be a difficult and distressing time for you and your family.

To start the process we need you to complete a rehoming form. This form allows us to assess your pet and offer them the best possible care when they enter the branch.

Please note that the number of requests to rehome animals far exceeds the capacity available within the branch.

As an RSPCA branch we are obliged to prioritise animals rescued by the national RSPCA inspectorate who rescue animals from cases of neglect and abuse. If we are unable to help you immediately we will add your request to a waiting list.

Other Support

You may wish to contact other rescues who have the facilities to care for such animals. If you need further advice, please contact 01604 881317.

We appreciate that making the decision to rehome your pet can be extremely distressing. If you require support during this difficult time please consider contacting local charities who can offer you support.
